Hi there, and welcome!
I'm Whitney, the owner of Cedar Bend Labradoodles. My husband, Andrew, and I live on a small hobby farm in Cedar Falls, Iowa, with our four children. Each school year, we also welcome a foreign exchange student into our home. That means from August through June, we have five kids helping love and care for our puppies!
I grew up on a farm in Muscatine, Iowa, right along the bend of the Cedar River, which inspired the name Cedar Bend. My parents still live there, and we spend many weekends back home on the farm. These deep roots in farm life are part of what shaped my love for animals.
Today, our own farm is home to six different species: horses, goats, chickens, geese, cats, and, of course, our beloved dogs.
While Andrew works as an engineer at John Deere, I stay home full-time caring for our animals and raising our puppies. Being surrounded by animals every day is truly my happy place.
Our children are an essential part of daily life on the farm and play a significant role in raising well-socialized puppies. From the everyday household sounds to the joyful chaos that kids bring, our puppies are exposed to a wide range of experiences that help build confident, adaptable temperaments. We also introduce them to our outdoor animals, providing them with early exposure to various sights, smells, and surroundings.
Raising puppies in this hands-on, family-oriented environment helps us prepare them to thrive in their new homes, where they are loved, socialized, and ready for life.
